“I would encourage anyone to consider being a part of the LifeCare team. It is a great way to give back to the community and provides lifelong friendships.”
Dave Cuddon and his family have been a big part of LifeCare from the very beginning. Dave volunteers with the LifeCare ‘s Finance Care program, equipping people with skills and encouraging them through financial mentoring. His wife, Katrina, volunteers in the Prayer Ministry, and their children, Steph and Lachie, fundraised for LifeCare by running in the Melbourne Marathon.

With the increasing demand, we are keen to recruit volunteers to be trained up as mentors.

Other requirements for mentors:

Must obtain a Working With Children’s Check and Police Check
All our volunteers are supported and supervised by a team of counsellors, psychologists and community work specialists.
Be a Financial Care Worker
Financial Care mentors are volunteers who provide practical budgeting and financial assistance to people in the community facing financial challenges. Training will be provided so that all volunteers can help their clients.
Time required: 2 to 3 hours per week
Be an Administration Supporter
Office administration volunteers help run the LifeCare reception desk and offer administration support. Tasks include reception, filing, photocopying, and small projects such as collating resources and data input.
Time required: 3 hours per week
Fundraise for LifeCare
Our goal is to raise much needed funds to support our programs. Our services have helped hundreds of clients in the community over the past year, seeing them through struggles with substance use, homelessness and family violence. No matter what their circumstance is, LifeCare aims to help everyone flourish emotionally, socially, economically and spiritually through care and community.
Serve in Family Violence Programs
Opportunities to serve within Family Violence Programs include helping to prepare food each week for participants at Waratah House, and helping to run our occasional child care program.
