Joy is undertaking a student placement practicum at LifeCare as part of her Graduate Diploma in Counselling studies.  She is working with children up to age 14.  The first session will only be with the parent/guardian(s) and the type of therapy that is most appropriate for the child will be discussed.  Formal Play Therapy is an option for younger children as Joy is a registered Play Therapist.

Drawing on her backgrounds in Early Childhood Development, Child and Youth Mental Health, and Child Play Therapy, and with extensive experience supporting families through navigating trauma, attachment challenges, and developmental concerns, Joy is passionate about attachment focused and trauma-informed work. Whether working directly with children through play or supporting parents as therapeutic agents, she focuses on fostering a safe and therapeutic relationship that promotes healing and growth within the family system.

Joy offers sessions in both English and Mandarin.

The session fee for LifeCare Student Counsellors is set at a significantly reduced rate of $20.  Please discuss with our Intake Receptionist if Joy would be a suitable counsellor for your child.
