Qualifications

Master of Child Play Therapy
Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching

Jonie began her career in early childhood education, where her curiosity about how children learn, communicate, and make sense of their world first took root. This foundation led her to train as an Early Intervention Therapist, working closely with families to support children with developmental delays, neurodiversity, and complex needs. Across these roles, Jonie developed a deep appreciation for the importance of collaboration, family partnerships, and creating safe spaces where every child feels understood and supported.

Through her work in early intervention and teaching, Jonie recognised the power of play as the natural language of children for emotional expression and growth. This inspired her to pursue further study, completing a Master of Child Play Therapy and expanding her skills across child-centred, filial, and expressive play approaches. Jonie’s practice is guided by empathy, curiosity, and the belief that children thrive when given the freedom to explore, express, and lead through play. She has a particular interest in supporting children with developmental delays, additional needs, developmental trauma, and anxiety.

Jonie offers sessions in English and Mandarin and is committed to creating warm, culturally responsive environments where children and families feel safe, valued, and empowered.
